River crossings

Approaching the river, the Team Leader sends scouts to recce the crossing point (1). Moving in a wide loop, the scouts clear the river bank (2) looking for signs of enemy activity before returning to make their report (3). The team then approach the river using a different route in case the scouts were spotted (4). A bend in a fast flowing river enables the soldiers to use the current to get the first man and safety line across. The men waiting their turn to cross maintain security around the crossing point. As team members are ferried across, security is also maintained on the opposite bank. When the last man has crossed, the team continue their mission (5).
